The Canary Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean, just over 300 km from the north of Africa. There are 7 islands, the largest of which is Tenerife. The islands are known as paradise islands, offering spring weather all year round. Summer temperatures range up to 30 degrees, while in the winter months temperatures are around 20 degrees. Winds blowing from the north-west are always present on all the islands. Winds on the islands are strongest when the weather is warmest.
The Canary Islands attract tourists and sailors because of their beautiful beaches, volcanoes, theme parks and there is a good chance of seeing dolphins or whales at sea. The area is suitable for more experienced sailors.
